Artificial Intelligence, while now at the peak of the hype cycle in technology circles, remains a misunderstood technology by the average office worker. Some imagine armies of robots rebelling against humanity—or at least a scary technology that will take away jobs and dehumanize the workplace.
So how do you start a conversation about A.I. when it already has a public relations problem? This was the challenge brought to us by ServiceNow as they set out to launch the artificial intelligence capability in the latest version of its enterprise cloud platform.
IDEA
With the goal of attracting non-ServiceNow customers in mind, we decided to skip industry jargon and heavy-handed “techsplanation” in favor of a lighter approach that promotes the human benefits of A.I.
A.I. isn’t an unfeeling robot, android or supercomputer—in ServiceNow’s platform, it’s more like a virtual, friendly co-worker who’s super capable and always there to help out. So we created a metaphorical character to represent A.I. and illustrate the real-world benefits of a technology that can automate tasks, solve routine problems and provide just the right info when you need it. The key takeaway? ServiceNow A.I. ushers in a new era of workplace productivity and innovation by freeing people from the mundane tasks so they can focus on the stuff that matters.
